1.      Introduction

Car Clinics have just become much easier to arrange anywhere in Thailand, as well as being more competitively priced. InfoSearch offers various automotive research services in Thailand through our membership of Iris and InfoSearch partners.

 2.           Options

Car Clinics are offered in four basic formats to meet different objectives of the client, although other variants are of course possible to meet any specific requirement:
- Quanti Clinics: These are the standard car clinic format usually involving 100 to 300 respondents pre-recruited to meet the research objectives. Questionnaires are normally self-completion, taking up to an hour to complete. Quanti Car Clinic will usually involve from 3 to 4, perhaps up to 6 cars on display.
- Quali Clinics usually involve just two cars being displayed, most often the current and a replacement model. Two or three groups of 10 respondents are invited to an extended, 3-hour group, incorporating viewing and contrasting the models on display. Any number of specific techniques may be employed in the course of the groups.
- Road Test Assessment: To compliment the external and internal visual and image examination of the previous test, we also offer a ‘test drive’ methodology, which normally involves 30-40 respondents taking the car on test for a 45 minute drive. The interview takes place in the car whilst the respondent drives and/or immediately afterwards, and may involve unstructured and semi-structured segments which may be recorded for later analysis, as well as a standard structured questionnaire.

 3.           Procedures and Guarantees

         Whichever type of Car Clinic you choose, InfoSearch will arrange all aspects of the survey in every city in Thailand you require, in accordance with our procedures as outlined here:

- Venues are booked and prepared to a standard layout in every city, with a minimum of 100m2 available per model displayed. All venues are secure, carpeted, and well lit. Uniform back and side walls are provided for each model in every city. Venues have front halls for interviewer booking and processing. No hand luggage is allowed in and of course no recording equipment/ cameras etc. 24 hour security is available at every venue.
- InfoSearch Automotive can design & format questionnaires for you as required.
- Respondents are recruited mostly face to face in-street, in central location, or by telephone if appropriate sample lists are available. Quotas and other client requirements can be met. Incentives are paid to respondents after successful completion of the clinic process.
- Interviewing is carried out by fully trained and supervised interviewers belonging to the recognised quality control scheme of InfoSearch. ESOMAR guidelines are followed at all times. Interviewing is normally carried by pen & paper method or self completion.

- InfoSearch Automotive will be responsible for all data processing, analysis and reporting, again following our standard guidelines and a Service Promise offered to all our clients. 

The research can be carried out simultaneously in each city using identical methods and procedures. Clients can choose any combination of cities, ranging from a single city to covering the whole of country.

 4       Fieldwork and Quality Control

Fieldwork is conducted by InfoSearch in accordance with ESOMAR and TMRS Codes of Conduct, to a common timetable, common methodology and common standards of quality. Interviewers undergo a three day training course, including simulated interviewing, prior to any live interviews. 20% of recruitment interviews are back checked immediately after completion. All respondents complete a short questionnaire at the hall to confirm their eligibility prior to being allowed in the hall itself.

 All interviews are of course conducted by interviewers who are native speakers of the appropriate language. Once identified, a particular respondent may be contacted number of times during each survey until recruitment interview is achieved or a refusal obtained– in order to ensure correct representation of hard to get people.

5       Data  Processing

 Questionnaires are developed and designed by client requirement using a complete research and analysis software. Starting with questionnaire design, InfoSearch offers seamless path to master questionnaire printing in multiple languages, CATI data collection, data entry module, Top Line results, tabulation, analysis and data export in numerous formats. Questionnaires, documents, code lists and data are transferred between InfoSearch and client companies via the Internet. Data and reports are thus fully compatible for multi-wave, multi-country analysis, reports and presentations, including client database of results.
